About Host: Coach Grady Bean

A true Henderson State Univ. Reddie and Arkansas Legend, the Amity Arkansas High School All-American is a member of the HSU Hall of Fame as a player/coach and as a member of the 1979 Reddie Basketball Team.

Bean was the starting point guard for the Reddies from 1976-80 on teams that compiled a 101-24 won-loss record and made it to the Small College Basketball Final 4 three times. Bean played in 119 games in his career and is 7th on the all time assists list at HSU.

In 1983, at the age of 24 Bean was named Head Basketball Coach at HSU becoming the youngest head coach in the history of Arkansas College Basketball. His 101 victories ranks 3rd on the all time list at HSU.

Bean went on to coach at the Major College level with stints at Arkansas State, Sacramento State, and Northern Iowa as an assistant and gained a reputation as one of the top recruiters in the nation.

In his 21 year playing and coaching career Bean was part of 12 championship teams and coached 7 All-Americans and numerous NBA players.

After retiring from coaching Bean used his knowledge from growing up in one of the most successful business families in Arkansas (Bean Lumber Co.) to create several small businesses in Hot Springs National Park Arkansas, where he now resides.

Bean is currently Chairman of the Henderson State Univ. Hall of Fame Committee, President of the Spirit of the Reddies Alumni Chapter, and is an active leader in several business organizations in Hot Springs.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!     The Coach Grady Bean Show College Football Kickoff Special.

My guests are two of the most highly respected names in college football over the past 30 years, Rick Minter (left) and J.B. Grimes. Both are former Razorback Coaches and Rick was the Head Coach at Cincinnati and Marshall Univ. He was the Defensive Coordinator at Notre Dame under Lou Holtz and seven other schools in his career including South Carolina and Kentucky in the SEC. He also served at Linebackers coach for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL. Rick currently serves as a Defensive Analyst for the Michigan Wolverines where his son Jesse is the DC.
A legendary Offensive Line Coach J.B. Grimes has coached in 18 Bowl Games, and sent over 50 offensive lineman to the NFL in his career which included stints at Arkansas, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, and Auburn under Gus Malzahn.
We will be discussing the state of college football as well as getting their insight on the upcoming season in the SEC and nationally. Plus, they will have some highly entertaining stories from their careers. If you are ready to "get your mind right" for college football you don't was to miss this show.

Brian Vilim and Joey Lauren Adams

Join me on this week when my guest will be two of Hot Springs newest residents, the husband and wife duo of Brian Vilim and Joey Lauren Adams. Brian is an accomplished cinematographer who is best known for his work on 2017’s Opus of an Angel and 2023’s Invitation to Murder. He has also shot over 300 music videos, shot high end commercials, and worked as both a producer and actor. Joey is an award winning actress who is best know for her Golden Globe nominee performance in Chasing Amy with Ben Affleck and worked on numerous other films including Dazed & Confused and Big Daddy. She is also an award-nominated director whose 2006 film Come Early Morning was chosen for the Sundance Film Festival. Tune-in as we learn what drew this Hollywood Power Couple to Hot Springs National Park and what intrigues them about our wonderful city. You don’t want to miss this show. We will discuss one of the most controversial subjects in College Sports, the NIL or Name, Image, & Likeness. If you don't understand NIL or how it works this is a great platform for you to learn how your favorite team and players function in a "pay for play" world.

Chris Wyrick is a veteran athletic college administrator with over 25 year experience on the campuses of NC State, Miami (Ohio), Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Arkansas. Wyrick specialized in external relations with an expertise in fund raising. Over his career, he is credited with raising over $1 billion dollars on the campuses that he served and was named the National Fund Raiser of the Year in Division 1 Athletics in 2003. In 2021, Wyrick took a special interest in the new developing Name, Image and Likeness landscape and serves as a volunteer consultant on various projects in the NIL space. Today, Wyrick is the Executive Vice President of Hunt Ventures in Rogers Arkansas, owner of Equity Storage and CDub Consulting.

-Finished 23rd year of Div 1 Men's basketball.
-Worked 17 NCAA Tournaments.
-Worked the last 15 NCAA Tournament Regionals in a row, Sweet 16 or Elite 8.
-Currently working games as crew chief in the SEC, Big Ten, Big East, American, and Sun Belt conferences.
-Worked the Finals of the SEC Tournament in Nashville this year.

Personal Bio:
-Married to Staci for 23 yrs. We share 5 kids.
-I have a Shelter Insurance Agency in Atkins AR with this being our 32nd year of service.

Hobbies and Fun:
-I love the beach
-Playing golf
-taking bike rides
-spending time with my French bulldogs, Phoenix and Dallas.

Anthony Valinoti, opened Delucas’s Pizza, in Hot springs AR in 2013, with no cooking experience, he took a gamble on a city and a six table restaurant. Nine years later Delucas Pizza, is looked upon as some of the best pizza in the United States. The story is tale of heartbreak, perseverance and sheer will, to succeed.

Special Guest: Pat McCabe, Mayor Hot Springs, Arkansas

Pat McCabe serves as President and CEO of Levi Hospital, a position he has held since 1987. During his time at Levi, he has introduced numerous healthcare programs to the community that have improved the health status of area residents. Pat was recognized as the first Sentinel-Record Reader’s Choice Man of the Year in 1994. He has served in numerous volunteer capacities that include the Hot Springs Documentary Film Institute, United Way of Garland County, Retirement Development Authority, Main Street Hot Springs and the Inaugural Board for Leadership Hot Springs. He has also served as the President of the Hot Springs National Park Rotary Club, Assistant District Governor for Rotary District 6170, and board member of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA).  Pat also serves as a Blue and Gold Officer for the Admissions Department of the United States Naval Academy, and as such identifies promising young men and women who have the potential of becoming an officer in the United States Navy or Marine Corps.
