TIPS FOR USING THE ArtistFirst.com ARCHIVE

The archive files are best played through Windows Media Player, however most programs which can play mp3 files should work fine. All Windows-based PC's made since 1995 already have the Windows Media Player loaded!  It is also free from Microsoft.  Here is the link to get Windows Media Player or upgrade to the latest version: Click for Windows Media Player

ANY INTERNET CONNECTION CAN USE THIS ARCHIVE - however: How quickly a show will start to play or how long a download takes is directly related to your internet speed, as well as your computer's CPU speed.

If your internet connection is broadband (cable or DSL): you can listen to shows on-demand simply by clicking on the link.  After a short buffering period, the show will play.  To save the show to your computer, right click on the show link and click "save target as...", if you aren't already given an option to save the show merely by clicking on the link.  Then, save the show to your computer and be sure to remember where you placed the file.

If your internet connection is dial-up: slower speeds may have to download the show before listening. This will depend on your modem speed and CPU. If the show glitches too often when trying to listen on-demand, download it first (see below):

How to download right click on the show link then click "save target as...".
Then, save the show to your computer and be sure to remember where you placed the file.

Saving a copy of the show is also available to higher speed connections: when listening to show in Media Player, and show has finished loading, at top of page hit:  "File" then "Save As", and then "ok".  File will be downloaded to your hard drive for you to play anytime. Once downloaded, CDs can easily be burned.
