Part 2
Perri Peltz

Director Michael Dudko brings us Sir Elton John, David Furnish (Elton's civil Partner), David Pelzer (A child called IT), and James Chau -United Nations Goodwill Ambassador. Adopting a child means undergoing rigorous assessment marked by bureaucracy, paperwork and often, an outlay of cash. Filmmakers Michael Dudko and Olga Rudnieva ask themselves if they are fit for parenthood after they personally witness Sir Elton John and David Furnish’s failure to adopt. Their investigation of the regulations, cultural prejudices, and child trafficking policies behind the process takes them from the slums of Ukraine, through China, and the US. They speak with prospective parents, social workers, lawyers, psychologists, and adoption agencies to find a flawed system that allows millions of orphans to languish in foster care and learn that children lack the most basic human rights. A Show About Autism

Directors statement -
Eric Gladen
If someone had told me 10 years ago that I would spend the next decade making a documentary film about Autism, I would have looked at them like they were crazy. But a tragic life experience in 2004 quickly changed my focus from my career as an Engineer, to telling the story of Autism through a documentary film. Prior to 2004, I had never known or met anyone with Autism, and the only thing I knew about it was what I saw in the movie Rainman. I thought Autism was just someone who acts a little quirky and has special skills. I did not know that many of these children are extremely sick, psychologically and physically. For more info, go to www.traceamounts.com or www.showbiz-view.com

Directors Statement - Shiloh Levine
In January 2008 I answered a craigslist
ad. When I showed up for the interview I was greeted by a young man named Eric Gladen and his cat Wayne. His office was  about two feet from his kitchen sink, being that he lived and worked out of his 40 foot RV. Eric spoke really fast, he told me he was an engineer, he spoke a lot about mercury in the vaccines and the connection to Autism, his personal story, and that he wanted to somehow put it all into a documentary.

He was selected for a 2006 Media Arts Fellowship from Renew Media and also won the Creative Promise Award from Tribeca All Access for his script Before the Beast Returns (working title).
This May Be the Last Time illuminates the history of these Muscogee (Creek) hymns that once rang out during the government removal of Native Americans known as the Trail of Tears, echoed from the people during times of worship, joy, mourning, hope, tragedy. Harjo learnt while interviewing everyday people on the hyms sung during the search of his grandfather Pete Harjo who mysteriously went missing in 1962 after his car crashed on a rural bridge in Sasakwa, Oklahoma and learnt the songs were tied to traditions that originated in Scotland, Appalachia, and the experiences of enslaved African Americans. GOING ATTRACTIONS examines the drive-in theatre as an integral part of American culture from its invention in 1933, to its peak in the late 50s, to the rapid decline in the 70s and 80s, through the recent resurgence. By looking at the drive-in, we see the story of changing American culture and family over the last 60 years.
The story of the drive-in is told in segments that examine each era of the drive-in from its inception through the present day. Each section is a collage of visuals, audio and music blending original footage of drive-ins from all over the United States, interviews, graphics, photographs and archival footage.
The point of view focuses on placing the drive-in within the context of other relevant political, economic and social changes the nation was going through. These broader issues reflected changing ideals within American culture, and ultimately impacted the drive-in as a form of entertainment and social exchange.

L. A. Rebellion has become the most common term used to describe a group of Los Angeles-based African and African American film artists recognized largely for their work produced between the 1960s and 1980s, when most of them met as students in UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. The term denotes an evolving group of many admirable facets. Among these were the diversity of its creative expressions, and the importance of women’s voices within the group. In their variety, however, all three films have in common not only an African-American woman’s perspective, but also a focus on the process of coming to consciousness.
