school, and he carried it on into his twenties, writing for fun. He
wrote the first two Haszard stories in the late eighties, but

Pat Riley
Author of Executive Deception and
The Cook Out was born on the Jersey Shore and was raised in Avon and Spring Lake. He received his college degrees from Miami Dade College and Florida Atlantic University. Pat spent a decade as a music executive in Boston and Miami before moving his family to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Pat’s wife, Laura, is a visual artist, and his two lovely daughters—both cellists—are graduates of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Many of the characters in this work are based on people the author met while living and working in South Florida. For this novel, he researched the medical details with infectious disease specialists, immunologists, anesthesiologists, and neurotoxicologists. Although this work is fiction, the author’s research adds realism to a timely and remarkable political thriller. |

John Garland Born in Norfolk, Va. on September 30, 1953, Mr. Garland went to Norview High School until February of 1972 when he joined the Army and graduated with a GED. In March of 1975 Mr Garland was medically retired from the Army and traveled extensively across the US living in 11 states and visiting all but Maine and Alaska. In and out of VA medical centers, Mr. Garland finally went to Holyoke Community College and earned an AA in English literature in June of 1991. His constant need for travel led him to finally settle down in the mountains of North Carolina. Throughout the years Mr. Garland has published in several anthologies and newspapers across the country. His poetry was his first love until he joined a writer/artist forum called Redbubble. There he wrote and posted many more poetry and short stories. Inspired by other writers and artists he started to write stories of a wizard accompanied by two friends - an owl and a mouse. There he was greatly encouraged to compile and expand his stories into a book, "Endor the Wizard." That book developed into a second book, "Endor's Adventures", with a third and final book in the series, "Endor: The Final Chapter." He plans on writing many more books in the years to come which will explore the many facets of his character. His stories will delight the hearts of both young and old for generations to come. |

Charlotte Roth Obviously, I love, love to
write. Mostly about real people—how we feel, think, dream, and
interact with each other. My characters are very relatable and I
always fall in love with them as I follow them on their journey. I’m
originally from Denmark but moved to the States ten years ago with
my husband, a little chubby baby Alfred, and lots of hopes and
dreams. We now live in Seattle and have added two more members to
the family—the twincesses Emma and Olivia. When I’m not “Mom,” I
spend all my free time writing, re-writing, researching, reading,
observing people, and making stories and characters in my head. (and
speak with them a little, too). My favorite spot is my local
Starbucks, where my imagination runs wild—or works as a sponge
soaking up whatever I encounter. The world is by far the greatest
inspiration. |

Robert Colton After many years of studying Ancient Rome Robert Colton began to focus on the last generations that inhabited the city of Pompeii. Fascinated with the evidence left behind, the people of the lost city became very tangible. Pompeii: A Tale of Murder in Ancient Rome introduces Marcellus and Tay as the two nineteen year old men arrive in Pompeii. Marcellus, who narrates the stories, plays witness to the actual protagonist, his Egyptian companion named Tay. Colton set out to follow some of the classical Roman theatrical characters with the assembled cast. The clever slave who pulls the strings, the handsome youth who isn't as bright as he thinks he is, the angry old man who attempts to foil them both and the beautiful woman who needs to be saved -are found in his work. Each character springs from the conventional purpose into story lines that defy convention. Convoluted, humorous and unpredictable, Colton has brought life back to Pompeii in each of his books. However, not every character is fated to survive the adventure. In addition to writing books set in Rome's past, Robert spends countless hours attending to the whims of his retired greyhound. |

Carissa Lynch
Besides my family, my greatest love in life is
books. Reading them, writing them, holding them, smelling them…well,
you get the idea. I've always loved to read and never considered
myself a "writer" until a few years ago when I couldn't find a book
to read and decided to try writing my own story. With a background
in psychology, I've always been a little obsessed with the darker
areas of the mind and social problems so I try to channel all of
that into my writing. I'm the author of the Flocksdale Files,
Grayson's Ridge, This Is Not About Love, and the upcoming
Horror High series. I reside in Floyds Knobs, Indiana with my
husband, children, and massive collection of books. |

because the people in her head gave her no other choice... they are
quite bossy. When she is not chasing children, cleaning house, being
a chef, nurse, or a crazed redhead... She enjoys reading, writing
and paintball. She became an avid reader at an early age and never
looked back. Her favorite genre is a mix of fantasy and paranormal
although she has been known to occasionally read a straight romance. |
